Let’s get the only negative out of the way—walking to this airbnb from the ‘bomba’ (only gas station in the island) is quite a trip when you have a lot of luggage like we did, but we got a time-lapse video showing us what to expect, and that was very reassuring. If this neighborhood was located in most American cities, you wouldn’t want to walk through it because it is a very rough looking and poor neighborhood that would be intimidating to many people. But my wife and I went in to make many trips through the neighborhood by the time we left, and neither heard nor saw anyone threatening. And since the boardwalks pass over a mangrove swamp as you near the shore, you do have to deal with a few whiffs of marsh gas—breathe through your mouth to get past it. Once inside, you’ll forget all that and we were warmly welcomed by our hosta, and the place was great, with great views over the water. Perfect in every way, and well worth it. We will likely be back!

Sally and Mike are great hosts, breakfasts were delicious, and all of Sally’s recommendations for tours and restaurants were awesome.

We had a great time at The Sunsetter. Mike and Sally were very helpful and accommodating. While we were there we made use of the kayaks, bikes, and snorkeling gear that is available to guests. Breakfast everyday was fantastic. We saw sloths, sting rays, and barracudas very close to the house.

Una excelente elección fue el hogar de Sally y su esposo! Ubicado frente al mar, ofrece una estancia tranquila pero a la vez con accesos tanto por agua, caminando (unos 20 a 30 min del centro) o utilizando taxis del área cuyo precio es muy accesible entre $1 y $2 dólares por persona. Sallyy esposo son súper atentos y han procurado que la decoración y limpieza de las habitaciones y lugares comunes de la casa nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Fue mi primera vez en Bocas del toro y ame este pequeño refugio y la calidez de sus dueños . Lo recomiendo 100%

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt bei Sally & Mike. Die beiden sind super freundlich, haben viele hilfreiche Tipps und integrieren die Gäste in ihr eigenes Leben. Es war sehr schön Zeit in ihrem tollen Haus zu verbinden. Die beiden haben für jede Herausforderung eine Lösung und haben uns super weitergeholfen. Außerdem war das Frühstück köstlich :))
