We really enjoyed our stay. The 100 year old teak house is very cool. Amm’s authentic Thai breakfasts are amazing and she made them gluten free for me. The garden patio by the canal is beautiful. However, it does get busy with canal boats from mid-morning until sundown, and they are very loud. That was okay with us, as we were gone most of the day exploring Bangkok. It is about a 15 minute walk from the house to the Pho Nimit sky train station. Between the sky trains and the canal boats, you can get almost anywhere you want in Bangkok. (“Grab” will get you to the other ones.) The house is also a 15 minute walk from Talat Phlu, an area famous for its street food, highly recommended. Thank you Sirichan family for a memorable stay in Bangkok.

Sirichan’s homestay is a lovely ancient canal houses (a duo of green and brown houses in one garden) where you get to experience the authentic Thai neighbourhood and canal lifestyle. The canal is quite busy and chaotic during the day as a live commute route for the locals and tourist boats. It might not be ideal for digital nomad who needs to WFH, like myself. This place might not as quite as I expected overall but it’s vivid and you get to observe the two alligators that live across the canal, they are chilling on the pier everyday :) The mattresses are mellow comfy; the garden gives the best heart-warming vibe; the kittens 🐈‍⬛ are adorable but they intend to be troublemakers at nights; Sirichan’s garden often gets borrowed to serve events and classes for different occasions, and I think they giving the best Thai experiences/scenes if you like to observe. Ps: Amm is a lovely lady and we appreciate the authentic Thai breakfast and lunch offered by her and her family.

We stayed for an entire month. we have a great/True perspective on the Airbnb. The place is beautiful! The owner and the employees go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and know your way around. You are truly family there. Street markets (Talat phlu) are walking distance. Use grab app for food delivery Cheap and Bolt app to get around on those lazy days.The train system is a 15 min walk. We initially took a taxi from the airport. That's ok however once you learn the train system it's easy. Free bicycle use for exploring the area. We never used the buses. The head worker AM cooks excellent food , just ask her. If you are looking for the Bar scene its not it. It's a true thai neighborhood. But again the train will take you anywhere you like to go. There's temples near as well as a Mosque. Everyone, owner and staff deserve 5 ⭐️Plus! Tell the owner and AM we sent you Rashid and Angela from Chicago lol. You will not be disappointed! We will be back God Willing!

To wake up to the calls of myriads of birds and the song of the oriental magpie robin is magic. You will see the resident monitor lizard, and passing boats. Staying in a traditional Thai house on a khlong is a priviledge. Mind you, since the house that we rented (there are several houses on the property) had no glass windows, whenever we stayed inside with the aircon on, we had to close the shutters and turn on the lights. There are very few decent places to eat nearby. Excellent reason to use the kitchen with its good burners and woks (I bought and left behind a rice cooker and a big wok), visit the nearby market every morning, and hone your Thai food cooking skills! You may never have an opportunity like this again. It's exhilarating. We communicated online with Sirichan in English when booking, but we did not see her during our two-month stay. Am, who was our on-site host, made up for not speaking English by being adorable. She let us taste her food and gave me a few tips when I was cooking. She may cook your meals for you, for a reasonable fee. Your gateway to the city is Pho Nimit, a skytrain station at ten to fifteen minutes walking distance. Excellent coffee there, next to the 7-eleven. Three stops from Pho Nimit is Saphan Taksin, with a Robinson's department store, a Tops supermarket below and a food court at the back. The Icon Siam mall can be reached by courtesy boat shuttle from there, or by changing trains at Krung Thonburi.
