A minute's walk from the many amenities of Holt, perfectly positioned to enjoy a woodland walk at Holt Country Park, catch a heritage steam train to neighbouring picturesque villages or access the stunning, sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast by car, this hideaway is the ideal spot for discovering Norfolk, all year round. 1 Railway Cottages is a beautifully styled, contemporary holiday home in a secluded development in the heart of gorgeous, Georgian Holt. A minute's walk from the many amenities of Holt, perfectly positioned to enjoy a woodland walk at Holt Country Park, catch a heritage steam train to neighbouring picturesque villages or access the stunning, sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast by car, this hideaway is the ideal spot for discovering Norfolk, all year round. Modern, open-plan living doesn't get much better than this; the ground floor has underfloor heating throughout and its well-equipped kitchen opens out into the dining area and sunny, spacious sitting room which spills onto the enclosed courtyard via french doors. The first floor has three bedrooms (two with king-size beds - one of which is a zip and link and can be set up as two 2'6" singles on request - and one twin with 3' single beds), an en-suite shower room and family bathroom with a bath and shower over. Perfect for a morning coffee and alfresco dining, the courtyard is a comfortable and quiet outdoor space in which to while away the afternoon as you fire up the barbecue and the sun goes down. 1 Railway Cottages is ideally situated for guests to enjoy a holiday in a lovely location for a short, mid-week stay or longer break. Spoilt for choice with fabulous eateries and places to visit, both in Holt and the next door villages, this bolthole is a great base from which to explore North Norfolk. We had a wonderful week at this beautiful property. The location was great being just moments from all the lovely amenities in Holt. The cottage was spacious, clean and very well equipped and the location very quiet. Also easy to get to the coast and it’s lovely villages.

Holt is a popular North Norfolk town, bursting with Georgian charm and character. A paradise for shoppers, this bustling town boasts art and antique galleries, independent fashion boutiques, delightful gift shops, grocery stores offering the best of local produce, plus an excellent selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants galore. For Michelin starred dining, book into Meadowsweet. Other places not to miss include the Owl Tea Rooms and the Folly Tea Room. The Kings Head in nearby Letheringsett, boasts The National Pub & Bar Awards 2021, Norfolk County Winner. A short drive away, food lovers can find the Dun Cow at Salthouse or The Wiveton Bell. From April to December, Holt hosts an award winning, destination street market that showcases the best local independent craftspeople, designers, makers, food producers and street food traders.
On the outskirts of Holt is Holt Railway Station. From here you can catch the Poppy Line steam train and take a ride to Weybourne and Sheringham - both children and adults will love it!
Cley-next-the-Sea, a short drive north, is a pretty village with a landmark windmill, art galleries, a fabulous deli and a tea room or two. On the outskirts of the village is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust visitor centre and Cley Marshes where you can sit in the café to enjoy unrivalled panoramic views across the marshes, or birdwatch to your heart's content.
The nearby coastal towns of Blakeney, Morston, Salthouse and Sheringham, are worth a visit, are is slightly further afield Stiffkey and Cromer.
The National Trust properties at Felbrigg Hall and Blicking Hall are only a short hop in the car away. Sheringham Park, also part of The National Trust's portfolio, is just outside Sheringham and famed for its stunning rhododendron display each spring.
