FH Rose's place COULD have got 5 Stars in every department, were it not for two issues: 1) An extremely smelly drain in the "shower" bathroom which was "dealt with" every second or third day with chemicals and a flush of the pipes. However, it is clear that a permanent fix is required here - which the Manager now knows about. So I am certain that will be rectified fairly soon. 2) We were never informed that loud animal noises will begin, like clockwork, every morning at around 5am - in Summer - starting with a Rooster, then Ducks and Guinea Fowl which land on the roof and make an intolerable racket. Since these lovely creatures are much-loved, permanent "residents" of the property, it is highly unlikely they will be removed or relocated anytime soon. So forget "sleeping in". We came for a quiet, restful break from early rising and the Rat Race. And while the setting itself is magnificent and perfectly located, the animals destroyed any hopes we had of a sleeping past 6am.

Very nice and quiet place to stay; your own cottage in a great garden with amazing views of Noordhoek beach and waking up to the sounds of birds singing! Frank was very welcoming and friendly, we would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely time. It's a beautiful little cottage surrounded by nature. We'll definitely visit again.
