Rob and Nicola wish to invite you to the well-known El Gato Negro is a holiday home for couples and single travellers. A perfect base for getting to know Las Alpujarras and walking the mountain trails. Completely restored, with thick chestnut beams and other features, the cottage has lots of character and is ideally located close to the main square. Café-bars and restaurants with terraces, bakeries, supermarkets, banks and parking close by, yet the street is traffic-free. El Gato Negro was completely restored (2003) , retaining its thick chestnut beams and other wood features, the cottage has lots of character and an ideal location just below the quiet main square. The house itself has a magical charm that is beyond words. El Gato Negro is situated in the heart of the village, in a courtyard with a shady ash tree with seating beneath. Lunch can be taken outside with ease. On entry to the house is the fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. On the right is the reading room with a stylish comfortable sofa and two chairs. Further on is the cosy lounge with a sofa and arm chair, and a log burner to while away the evenings listening to the crackle of the fire. The bedroom like all the rooms has a wooden beamed ceiling and is comfortable and light. The reviews we get about the house are always positive and our guests enjoy the chance to stay in this charming little house.

Everything went super smooth with our stay and the place was super cozy and beautiful. The host was very proactive and helpful with information, and the house wss equipped with everything one could need. Nice location close to fantastic hiking routes and in the center of the cozy Capileira village. 5/5 🌟

One of the best places Ive ever stayed. So cozy and well thought out. The bedroom and pillows were plush, hot water with great pressure. The kitchen is stocked. Soo many lovely places to sit. Hooks and nooks to sit your things. Different lamps to create warm and cozy lighting. I was using the bus and had no car and Rob let me check in early and leave luggage till I left. Truly magical. Hiked down to Bubion and Pampaneira. Made friends and somehow managed to find rides. Im already sad to have left and hope perhaps one day to return. Thank you so Rob.

Pour un gîte rural, l’essentiel était là pour un séjour correct. Tout était fonctionnel. Je passais plus de temps à l’extérieur sur les sentiers de randonnées et quand je revenais je pouvais prendre une bonne douche pour relaxer et cuisiner un peu pour bien récupérer. Aucun désagréments à signaler et très bonne communication de Rob pour bien informer le locataire en cas de besoin.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Capileira. The house looks exactly like the pictures you can see here. The house is very charming, the town quite vibrant ! Rob provided very good recommendations when it came to restaurants (we personally loved « el corral del castaño ») and walks. He was very responsive if/when a question arose. This is a five star review from us ***** !

An absolutely charming and surprisingly spacious cottage, in a great location near the centre of the village. There is a large car park near by. We had a wonderful stay!
