Patrick was an excellent host start to finish. As a traveling health care worker, he made the whole experience easy and homey as possible! Room was simple and comfortable as described. Our shared spaces had everything labeled and each guest had their own designated spaces to store food or personal items which was very helpful. If any issues or problems arose, he responded quickly and amended the situation as soon as he could! Location is excellent, many restaurants within walking distance and close to local land marks and the river walk! Honestly a good place to stay and I’d go back if the opportunity arises in the future!
Patrick’s place was clean. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. I did have a closet in the room I rented. It would have been nice to have a common area to eat and watch tv or socialize with the other guests but it did serve its purpose. It was a little challenging to navigate getting my large luggage or bags up and down the spiral stairs. There was the option of taking the courtyard stairs which were a little steep. Patrick’s place was clean initially but if I may suggest for future guests, to either offer weekly cleaning or supply cleaning products (i.e. toilet brush, toilet bowl cleaner, shower cleaner, paper towels, etc.) to help keep the place clean during guests stay. Overall, I had a really good experience and would rent again from Patrick in the future!
I had a great long term stay with Patrick! He has a super detailed check in instruction process for you which is very helpful! He was always quick to respond to questions I had and was able to get me into one of his places last minute when my prior housing fell through. The water pressure is good and nice and hot! Well stocked cooking for your stay! He also had bath towels stocked and they are the big soft ones like at hotels! The bed was also comfortable to sleep on! The mini fridge in the room was convenient to keep snacks and drinks in! He had lots of great recommendations in town as well! I would stay with him again!
It's an eclectic, artsy, and extremely safe neighborhood with immediate access to the Capitol and State Museum as well as many of the top Harrisburg restaurants including Mangia Qui, Rubicon, Home 231, The Sturges Speakeasy, Burger Yum, and Elementary Coffee. We're also within walking distance (less than a mile) of City Island, Harrisburg University, UMPC Harrisburg Hospital, and the Amtrak Station. Also about a 5 min drive to PA Farm Show and Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital.
We're half a very walkable, safe, & scenic mile from the Harrisburg Amtrak/bus station, less than a mile from UPMC Harrisburg Hospital (also very walkable), and less than two miles from The PA Farm Show Complex. It's an easy area to navigate by car and by foot.
Free street parking is available in the evenings a half a block away after 7PM and 2.5 blocks away after 5PM (both areas free until 8AM). It's free all day on Sundays.
A private off-street space may be available with advance notice for an additional $12/night.

自我介绍
A few brief factoids about me: Over-educated former tractor trailer driver that knows the city inside and out. I'm currently doing medical research, working on several start-ups, and writing a book, as well as hosting AirBNBs. ENTP. Avid traveler. It's my favorite thing. Shameless National Park Spokesperson. (unpaid....for now) Foodie and obsessive chef. Avid gardener. Maker of puns. Wine enthusiast. Hater of cigarettes. Lover of great conversations. Passionate about organic, regenerative farming, the microbiome, and the microbiome's relationship to personality, psychology, and infectious disease/immune function. Well, since this is a travelling site, I'll say that my favorite trip thus far was a two week epic road trip along the Pacific Coast that involved romance, redwoods, dear friends, anthropological nutrition, and lots of unforgettable stories. Also flying in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon and meeting the Grand Canyon's Narnian squirrels was pretty awesome, though I think Zion NP has been my favorite park to date (you'll see these themes make their way into some of my AirBNB rooms). I would love to compare notes on the best parks. Sharing stories with guests and hosts is always a favorite part of this experience, but I also totally understand busy schedules that don't always allow for chit chat. I have been in Harrisburg for about 17 years now and lived in three different parts of town before deciding to call Midtown home. Whether you're in town for a night or a month, I can recommend some excellent eats and awesome activities to make your stay the best it can be. Harrisburg has become a thriving, hip, cultured, and foodie-centric city in recent years and had grown to once again have a thriving and widely varied nightlife. We have many great options to explore including abundant hiking (*PLEASE* wear tick repellent) and museums. If you're into healthy eating and nutrition, I can also tell you where to get the good stuff around here!
