Broomfleet · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Cosy Cottage in the Heart of the Countryside
A cosy cottage situated in the heart of the countryside with lovely walks and picturesque views. A train enthusiasts dream! The cottage is located next the historical Cave Crossing where you can watch the trains pass by. The ground floor of the cottage consists of a spacious lounge with a log burning stove, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a downstairs bathroom with electric shower over the bath. On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a super king size bed and the second bedroom a double bed. Both rooms have ample wardrobe space. Wi-fi is available at the property. Dogs are more than welcome at the cottage with no extra charge. The garden is secure making it a perfect space for dogs. A fresh bowl of water is provided if we know your furry friends are staying too. Please note the trains run frequently by the house and although not always noticeable, there may be the odd freight train which can be felt going by at times. However, there are no trains from approximately midnight until 6am.
Upon arrival, the house was cold. We asked if there was a faster way to heat it up. The host responded with, 'It was 20° when we left.' So? We were cold, and it was a big space to heat up. A fire was a necessity, not something to enjoy; however, we had to purchase more logs to stay warm. The hosts took this as a 'complaint', therefore we did not feel comfortable communicating further with them. The bathroom was full of black mould and woodlice, and cupboards in the kitchen (although not good cupboards) were filthy and smelt badly of damp and must. The water dispenser was slimy. Upon taking photos and requesting a partial refund, rather than accepting the uncleanliness of the house, the hosts told us we were looking for problems, and were incredibly ungracious in their responses. The house itself was large. If it were cleaned and decorated, it would be wonderful. The trains weren't a problem for us. I have only had positive feedback from my hosts, but expect retaliation in reply.
Me and my daughter enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage. We felt very relaxed, safe and comfortable. My daughter really enjoyed taking photos of the local wildlife too. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. 😊
Nice place, as described. Easy to find. Myself , Brother and the Dog all enjoyed our stay. Popped into Brough on the train had walk round and had Lunch.
The location forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail and is great for cycling, country walks and fishing nearby.
The village of Broomfleet is a 5 minute walk away and there are shops and pubs in South Cave 3.5 miles away.
Please note, there is no public transport in the village and the nearest shops and pubs are over 3 miles away, so over an hour walking. It is not really suitable to visit without a car and taxis nearly always need to be pre-booked in the area.
