Fantastic home right next to Bear Mountain. The house was very clean and spacious, great for a large group. John was a great host and an excellent communicator. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils, there were plenty of extra towels and linens, and the house was very comfortable in general. Would recommend to any large group looking for a home by the mountain.

We had an absolute WONDERFUL stay at John and Leslie's beautiful home! Their communication prior to our arrival was amazing and they went above and beyond to help us find boarding for our daughter's dog since they were needing to travel on to another location from this visit. We loved the home and how close it was to the venue. We appreciated all the "extra" touches that our host left in the home to make us feel welcomed from the moment we walked through the door! We spent a great weekend as a family in their home, and they ensured that we were able to make it our "family time". It was a great World Cup Race event over the Thanksgiving Weekend, we celebrated 29 years of marriage with our children and their significant others in a warm and inviting location! We are already talking about going back next year...hopefully we are able to visit John and Leslie's home again? If you need to place to stay in Killington, this home and experience (location) is definitely worth the value!

This is a truly lovely ski house! Everything is set up perfectly for large family trips. We stayed here with 11 adults and 5 kids ages 6mo-5yrs. We didn’t feel cramped at all. Each bedroom has its own on suite bathroom and there are plenty of extra pull outs and trundle beds for kids or other guests if needed. There are tons of activities for kids and adults with a awesome game room, multiple living rooms, bar area, big kitchen and dinning area, large central fire place. Plus who doesn’t love a hot tub after a day on the slopes?! Getting on and off the slopes is super convenient. We found the best way was to drive to the bear mountain lodge 5min away and either park or drop people off. People could ski home easily from the mountain and not drive home if they wanted. The host is super friendly and accommodating and was very helpful in getting us a deal on lift tickets. He provides a lot of amenities, and we felt right a home. There were no crazy check out routines either.

This house is WONDERFUL! We had a four-day 14-person family reunion, and I got so much praise for locating this fantastic property. People kept repeating how great the house was, how well stocked the kitchen was, how many amenities and games there were, and how spacious yet cozy. Each bedroom (suite) includes a full bathroom that provides privacy and comfort for one's most intimate rituals :)) a perk that cannot be understated. The rooms are attractive and large, and even the hallways are wide. The photos don't do it justice. Everything was clean and in very good condition. We enjoyed hanging on the lack east-facing deck in the morning and on the patio couches by the fire pit in the evening. The house never felt crowded. There were also many lawn games, and we all enjoyed the pool table immensely. This rental offers excellent value for a large group. Killington, Vermont, is a beautiful area with a lot to do in Summer. That said, we found ourselves staying close to the property -- the (4) tennis courts across the street got a lot of use (rackets and balls are in a container at the courts), and the recreation center is a pleasant 7-10 minutes walk (or 2-3 minutes car ride) down the road. We were surprised to discover that there was good sized outdoor pool that was not shown in John's photos (the jacuzzi was closed for some reason). While a few others came and went, we had the pool to ourselves for the most part. Unlike in Winter, Killington has a quiet, peaceful energy in Summer. There are lovely nearby hikes and ponds just a 10-minute drive from the house. The woods in VT are so beautiful (!), with mature old trees, long views, moss, well-marked paths, waterfalls, and creeks. We hiked from Kent Pond (there a beautiful picnic site right off the parking lot) to Thundering Brook Falls. Pro Tip: plug in the (2) locations and choose the walking option on your Maps app, and it will show you the trail options. In the end, we did not take the gondola up to the Killington Mountain peak since it was cloudy on our last day -- but I am sure it is worthwhile to see the view. John goes ABOVE AND BEYOND. Special touches abound: A cooler filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks awaited us, bathroom toiletries, and a Godiva chocolate on the pillow. A just-in-case-you-forgot drawer had shampoo, Tylenol, toothpaste, toothbrushes, band-aids, etc. There was also a Pay-as-you-go snack bar for anyone with a particular craving. I mean, WOW --- so kind, so thoughtful. We were immensely touched. There is a food market on the mountain just a 15-minute drive away. So we ended up having all our meals at the house and enjoyed cooking together. John was very responsive and accommodating when we requested an early check-in due to complicated logistics and families arriving from different states. THANK YOU, JOHN -- WE WILL BE BACK!

This house was amazing - highly recommend a stay here. John was a great host. Very communicative and was super helpful with tips and advice on how to make the most out of our stay. We would all happily stay here over and over again. We had a large group of both skiers and non-skiers. There was more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable and have their own space. The location next to the mountain was incredible, you can even ski straight back to the house if you like. There were a ton of amenities available at the resort near by that the group could use after a day of skiing, boarding or sledding. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a great stay and a bunch of little extras that added to the fun. We had a great time using the sleds, sitting around the fire pit, cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen, making cocktails at the bar, playing buck hunter in game room, shooting the bow and arrow, and shooting basketball hoops.
