Lovely to stay in an 18thC home and delighted to see some original features which create a very cosy home. Dove Cottage completely matched the description and we were very happy with all its amenities. Its original thick walls make for a nice quiet stay. Super peaceful. Its been the perfect place to stay to explore this wonderful part of the UK. Thank you Carole. 1st of many stays for sure.
Just back from a lovely holiday in Dove Cottage. We enjoyed being able to have walks on the beach and foreshore which was so close. The cottage was warm and comfortable and very well equipped. Although we did’nt see much sunshine, when we did,the front porch/ conservatory was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view to Scotland and sun setting. Certainly consider going back. Many Thanks
The location was excellent for beach access, however the cottage didn’t meet expectations. Several extremely low ceilings-tall people beware. The cottage was outdated and needs some refurbishments, the attention to detail was poor. The beds were quite uncomfortable to sleep in. None of our family had allergies however the dust and cobwebs in the cottage became very irritating to us all. The host did offer for her cleaner to come to the cottage and sort this problem out but as we were on our holiday break already I didn’t feel this was appropriate. As a family we couldn’t wait to go home as we never felt comfortable or relaxed within Dove Cottage
Loved the location, shops and pubs a hop skip and a jump away AND the beach just across the road. It was brilliant!
Carole's cottage was quaint - some low beams, but as I am only 5ft it didn't affect me. It had a cosy feel to it and the use of the central heating only confirmed this. It was very comfortable and I am sure would suits most people's needs. There was only the two of us so we had a choice of bedrooms (choose the king). It was nice to have a bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs. We were only there for a few days and it was great to come home to such a welcoming cottage.
