Extremely disappointed with Airbnb as to how they would allow an abandoned house to be posted for prospective guest. I booked it on 2/11/24 in the AM hours and made the host aware that my family and I would be checking in late in the PM hours of 2/11, as the time got closer I followed up with another message and no reply. I am aware that certain host are slower to reply than others so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and took the 2 hour drive hoping the host will reply with instructions to get access to the unit, etc.. as we were en route. Once we got there no reply from the host and had the slightest idea of how to get access to the unit, but to make matters worse the place was abandoned .. grass was knee high, pool empty and in very bad shape, etc.. there is a guard shack across the street and the guards stated that the place has been in its current state for some months. I am dealing with Airbnb to make things right refund wise, but is proving to be a slow process.
