I was told that tourists only stay in Kuala Besut for a night or so, before going to the islands, but I stayed here five nights and enjoyed all of it. My purpose in coming here was to find somewhere off-grid where I could take the time to reflect, and the farm was perfect for that. For the five days I was here I would wake up, go for a run around the village before sunrise, then enjoy breakfast in the garden with the owners' cats. I would then spend the morning reading and writing, before heading into the village for lunch. In the evenings, I would go to one of the restaurants in the village and get nasi lemak or ayam goreng. Lovely spot, perfect for what I needed.
