If you love mystery and the idyll, Podkoren is your sanctuary. Vitranc Boutique Hotel is located in a charming alpine village located in the northwestern part of Slovenia and is known as the pearl of Gorenjska architecture and architectural heritage. It lies at the source of the Sava Dolinka, which originates in the area of beautiful Zelenci, hidden between the Karavanke and Julian Alps, on the edge of the Triglav National Park. It is connected with the Kranjska Gora ski resort and every year it has the honor of hosting a one-off competition of the Alpine Ski World Cup for men. Podkoren also has an unusual and funny side, as it hosts the meeting of mythical creatures called Parkelj (Krampus) of three lands, and also one of the most famous Upper Sava festivities.
City center and Lake Jasna is just a few min away by car, where you'll find all the shops and restaurants. Popular mountain tops are just round the corner.
KRANJSKA GORA SHUTTLE
Kranjska Gora Shuttle is for all the visitors who like to travel carefree between places on holiday, as well as locals for easier daily errands. Price for one ride per person costs 2 €. For children up to and including the age of six, the bus ride is free of charge. Kranjska Gora Shuttle will run between July 3rd and August 31th, 2021.
WITH BIKE ON A TRAIN – BIKE ROUTE OF THREE COUNTRIES
Cycling enthusiasts can board a special train with their bicycles and travel on the line that runs between Villach and Tarvisio and between Jesenice and Villach. And from there you can cycle back home. The line between Villach and Tarvisio will operate twice a day on weekdays and six times a day during the weekend and on public holidays. The line between Villach and Jesenice will only operate during the weekend and on public holidays (four times a day). There is room for 120 bicycles on the train. The ticket price for the Villach–Tarvisio line is €6.50, the price for the Villach–Jesenice line is €8.90, and there is a bicycle surcharge of €2. If you do not have your own bicycle, you can rent one at the Tarvisio–Boscoverde railways station. Many different types of bicycle are available, including the electric ones. This railway line will operate between 8 June and 8 September 2019.
