Evi’s place was an excellent place to explore Leiden from. Everything is so close - bars, restaurants and shops. We had a great time.
Very nice location and excellent communication with the host. Good to know that the stairs are steep and also have a turn, so you get the full Dutch house experience 😁. Also, there is no sink in the bathroom, but for just a few days I didn't have any issue to use the one in the kitchen. Overall, if you want to stay in the city center, this is an excellent solution.
This is a spotlessly clean and cute apartment for 2 adults. We loved the area, quiet during the day & just a few jovial moments of passers by at night. Eva’s instructions were prompt, clear and precise. While we loved the facilities a couple of things did surprise us. The lack of hand washing facilities in the bathroom upstairs meant we had to buy wipes & bring them downstairs to the kitchen bin. We also had to brush teeth in the kitchen downstairs. Also the spiral flights of stairs between each floor are very narrow and steep, not for those with heavy cases or unsteady feet. All in all though, we loved our stay & the character of the building.
Evi's place is in a good location, a short walk to the bars and restaurants around the Nieuwe Rijn, or to the Pieterskerk, and only 1km or so from the station. The little alley it's in is particularly pretty. The house itself is compact and very clean, though it felt more functional than cozy, a bit like a hotel room. One slightly inconvenient feature was the lack of a wash basin the bathroom, so to brush my teeth or wash my hands etc I was always walking downstairs to use the kitchen sink. Overall a very nice place though and I can recommend it. Evi was also very responsive when I needed some advice on using the clothes washer. Also, if you're not familiar with Dutch city houses it has a very steep narrow staircase, which is very common, but definitely not accessible for those with accessibility needs.
Had a few lovely days in Leiden at Evi's place. Great kitchen with everything you need to have breakfast and cook a nice dinner. Great location too, as it only takes a few minutes into the centre but is still relatively quiet. Would come again! Only downsides: the "missing" sink in the bathroom and the steep stairs need some getting used to.
自我介绍
Hello! My name is Evi. I am 33 years old and I am born and raised in Leiden. I live in the city center of Leiden with my husband, two kids and our pug named Lilly. My hobbies are walking with Lilly, travelling, dancing, going out with friends, watching Netflix series, spending time with our family and renovating old buildings with my husband. Before Covid-19 struck, we did a lot of city trips, to Portugal, Spain, France and even in the Netherlands, which is easy to travel because of the short distances but with lots of variety. With Leiden as my home base, I live very close to many cities such as The Hague, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. During the summer I enjoy going to the beach which is a 20-minute drive to Noordwijk, Katwijk or Wassenaar. If you like my way of living and you want to explore Leiden/The Netherlands, feel free to contact me any time to discuss the possibilities!
