Just three miles from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, visit the roman forts of Housesteads and Vindolanda, or Chester’s. The surrounding landscape is stunning, enjoy a walk to Sycamore Gap and see the most photographed, iconic tree from the movie ‘Robin Hood’ or take a hike on the Pennine Way. For younger families there is a nearby play park and in the summer months a heated open air swimming pool. For the teenagers and young of heart a day of action and adventure awaits at nearby Go Ape, Matfen - swing through the trees and fly down the zip wires while taking in some of the finest scenery in Northumberland.
