When our studio practice was looking for a place to gather, John's place stood out for its ideal location by the water. The space accommodated all of us so well! There was a perfect balance between communal and private space. The well-furnished kitchen and appliances made our stay convenient and comfortable. Beautiful, open architecture—we were lucky to spot swallows, crows, loons, eagles, squirrels, and chipmunks enjoying the habitat from our rooms. Thank you to the hosts for inviting visitors to this spot!

John’s place was wonderful! Great views, kitchen was very well stocked (nice pots and pans), beds were comfortable.

This house was terrific for our multi-family weekend gathering (7 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby, 2 dogs). The grownups spent most of our time in the lovely kitchen/dining/living space, taking in all the gorgeous views of the river and surroundings, while the kids played games in the basement. We had four bald eagle sightings, took walks around the property and down the road (very quiet), and enjoyed the hot tub, as well. The house was clean, and the kitchen had most everything we needed. John and Vanessa were very responsive and flexible, as well. Would absolutely come back for a longer trip (and during warmer months, to enjoy the back deck)! Only note: the staircase between the main floor and the basement is inside one of the bedrooms (the one with a double and a twin bed), which is a little awkward--people have to walk through your room to get from the downstairs bedrooms and game room to the first floor kitchen/common space, etc. It is what it is, just wanted to mention it.

Wonderful views. House was well stocked and appreciated not having to bring towels and sheets. Great memories made!
