Great weekend away, perfect location for anybody who loves amazing views

Our stay at Hillside Lodge was wonderful. Being driven to and from the car parking area and the lodge was a must and very much appreciated! The lodge was beautifully decorated and felt so cosy and inviting. Stunning views, cosy log burner and beautiful furniture. Not overlooked by anyone so it feels very private. Walking boots definitely needed as the walk down the hill back to the car is very muddy. The hosts were responsive asking if we needed more wood for the fire. They even offered an extra night free of charge which was very kind! No complaints and would highly recommend!

We stayed at the lodge for 4 nights to celebrate my birthday with my partner, from the moment we arrived Phil was so helpful getting us up the hill as we couldn’t get up it with our car, nor should anyone attempt if you don’t know the area. We were welcomed with a card and a lovely bottle of Prosecco. The place was exactly as described and looked the same on pictures. Glamping is not for everyone the lodge was quite cold for the majority of our stay as the only way to warm up was to keep a log fire, my partner had no issues with this but you would if you’re susceptible to the cold. All in all a beautiful location we felt so at peace our entire time here the hot tub was beautiful but it does take around 3 hours to prepare the water. As the weather was not on our side we didn’t get out of the lodge much to explore the area with the local walks they have. Would definitely stay again but at a warmer time of the year. A treat for my parents birthdays. they lived it excellent space to stay and vistas were superb. Sadly they didn't brave the hottub, but my wife and I, plan to visit and give it a go. great communicaton a 5* listing.

All I can say is what a beautiful place Caradoc lodge is! Rustic, homely and the perfect setting to spend a few days in before Christmas! Decor tastefully done, and the bed very comfy. Amenities very accessible considering the off-grid location. I did read a number of reviews criticising the power going off - however, we only had this happen once but was promptly rectified. Of course due to the off-grid location, this is to be expected. Hot water for the inside bath took about 5 minutes to run hot, however once hot it made for a really relaxing soak. One of two issues: the toilet situation - personally I would prefer a more accessible toilet, but I wouldnt include this as a negative. My other criticism would be the outdoor hot tub. It doesnt state in the details that you can't turn on the jets - it does make sense, again, due to location. Also, I feel it would help if a net was left, as there was bits of dirt in hot tub. Nonetheless, a perfect getaway! Hosts very responsive 5*.
