From the moment we walked in the door, these four Canadians were smitten with this home. There was plenty of room for everyone to find a place to relax. We ate a lot of meals "at home" because the kitchen was so well appointed. When we did step outside, it was a short walk down a public pathway to the amazing St. Mary's Church, or to wander about the town. The house was central to 5 days of excursions to places like The Slaughters, Bibury and Bourbon-on-the-water. Other than the beds and pillows not being all that comfortable for us - we are tall and the covers weren't long enough - we all were very sad to be leaving the Smithy. Oh, and the bookshelf..... if there hadn't been a wonderland awaiting us outside the door every day, we all could have happily spent our days inside reading their books. Perfect. Six stars out of five.

This was a great base for a weekend with friends exploring the Cotswolds. It’s a cosy house (but not too small), which is accurately represented by the photos. The location in town was good for nipping out for a coffee, but it was also easily connected to some countryside walks. The parking permit worked well and there is EV charging 1 minute walk away. Overall, we would return to this house and recommend to others.

The Smithy is a great little cottage right in the centre of Chipping Norton. On a cute street so close to the centre of town. There is some off street parking offered which is also helpful as well as on street parking. The cottage itself has everything you need and kid friendly with highchair, child gate and cot. Lots of food options and supermarkets all walking distance. Thanks for a great stay!

I chose the house to stay and visit family in the area. It was a perfect location for my daughters and boyfriend to come visit, stay and generally spend time together in Chipping Norton. The house was also perfect for me to do a few days work remotely. If you are visiting the area I would recommend ‘The Smithy’!
