Susana’s place is a beautiful hide away, perfect for a single person looking to stay a little while in the outskirts of Paris. I stayed for 6 months, and in the winter it’s great, but during the summer the lack of AC/ fan/ windows makes it very stuffy. There were some things that frustrated me with Susana, and her communication. To start, my mom was helping me move so she came and stayed with me for 1 week. But when Susanas friend who checked us in saw this, Susana then messaged and requested an additional 10 euro a day to cover the “additional water and electricity used”, I requested to see the bills and was more than happy to pay whatever is extra but did not get a response and it was left at that. The listing did not mention no overnight guests, so the request was unusual but I was willing to oblige provided I saw the receipts. The second incident- I was traveling for 2 months, so I was renting susanas place but was not actually staying there, and again Susana messaged me about “high electricity bill”. She did not know that I was away for that period of time but I did disclose it when I came back and we found that it was probably due to the heater being left on. This is again weird because the heater is always on, it should not lead to higher than normal electric bills especially given nothing else was being used. The third incident occurred when I came back and found that the shower head (which has not been used in 2 months) was coming off and water was coming out sideways, I asked Susana if she can send someone to fix it. She ignored my message and requested additional money for damages to the shower head post check out. This to me is frustrating because I had already paid someone to come and try and fix it but they told me it was normal wear and tear and that it would be better to get a new shower head. So not only did I pay someone to try and fix it when Susana ignored my request, but now she’s requesting additional fees after check out, to something that was not damaged but was due for changing. All in all, the place itself is good, but would not recommend for long term stays.
