Beautiful location at the edge of a medium sized Cotswold village. The highlight was the walk to Chipping Campden and back. I also really appreciated the book selection of local histories and guide books. We recommend the Great Western Arms for a cozy local pub within an easy walking distance.

We enjoyed our stay overall but did have some issues right from the beginning unfortunately. There was no firewood as advertised in the listing and when we eventually received a reply about this query they said it was April to October only. The listing did not say that and considering our stay was in April and freezing outside we were disappointed. There were no teatowels, someone brought some the next day, once we’d requested them. There was also dog poo in the garden and we were not impressed. Its not great to start a two week stay! We felt the listing should have mentioned that there was nowhere to put clothes (or cases) in the master bedroom, only one wardrobe and chest of drawers in the second twin room. We are a family of four so ended up opening our suitcases up on the bed each day to get our clothes. Also the lure is a thoroughfare outside the back door where the kitchen diner is and neighbours both sides walk past frequently so it was not private.

We booked the cottage for two nights and unfortunately it was not what we imagined it to be or what the few reviews we saw said: ⁃ The cottage had bad smells and was Very dusty (curtain, bed bases in the second room, the carpet) ⁃ The water kettle was full of limescale to a point where we could not use it at all and preferred to use the hot tap water ⁃ The kitchen cabinets smelled of mould and the plates were not cleaned properly ⁃ The kitchen trays were rusted ⁃ The fridge was very dirt KT and needs a deep clean ⁃ One of the freezer drawers was jammed could not be used ⁃ The garden has no light and it was difficult to get the the table area because the plants got in the way ⁃ prior to booking no details were given to us about the garden being on different levels which is important when you have a child ⁃ No sheets for the travel cot ⁃ One toilet paper roll and no tissue boxes or kitchen roll ⁃ One kitchen towel
