Betty’s Bay lies on the southern Whale Route coast of the Western Cape, about 1.5 hours from central Cape Town, and 30 minutes from Hermanus.
Betty’s Bay is a quiet seasonal holiday village, ideally suited to those who prefer outdoor living. Whale watching, walking, hiking, swimming, surfing, cycling & sand boarding are the sort of activities that one can enjoy here. It's Cape beach living at its best!
There are lovely long silver sandy beaches, as well as a selection of small private beaches. Even in the busy season, the beaches are not heavily populated.
Betty’s Bay boasts the attractions of the Stony Point land-based Penguin Colony (the world's largest breeding ground of African penguins), Harold Porter National Botanical Garden & the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. At Stony Point, the boardwalk makes penguin viewing a special treat. The walks, hikes, picnic spots and mountain bike routes in the Harold Porter Gardens and Kogelberg Reserve are spectacular. These wilderness areas form the central core of the Cape Floral Kingdom and are home to a huge range of flora & fauna species. The Palmiet River is also a favourite for swimming or canoeing. Horse riding on Kleinmond beach is highly recommended.
Betty’s Bay is centrally located with Cape Town, Cape Town International Airport, Hermanus & the Cape winelands all around a 60-90 minutes drive away.
The Arabella Golf Course is 15 minutes drive away. Arabella also has a world-class spa for pampering sessions.
Note that Betty's Bay is quiet and peaceful. If you're looking for a town by the sea, then Hermanus is a better fit for you.

One needs a car to go to the supermarket, but otherwise one can walk to most places nearby along the dirt roads that characterise this secluded part of Betty's Bay.
