Discover a charming place to recharge in this unique renovated country cottage. Stroll among the walking paths, enjoy your own private fishing lake, or sit by the log-burning stove and completely unwind from it all. Or play complimentary golf on the adjoining golf course (subject to availability). An ideal rural retreat for friends and family or your own tucked-away little idyll in a quiet corner of a wildlife-accredited estate. Please see our guidebook for extensive things to do in the area. Nestled among the rolling hills, this spacious self-catering accommodation can sleep up to 8 guests. There are 4 bedrooms and all have their own en-suite bathrooms with luxurious showers and a bath. There is a modern kitchen with a stove/oven, fridge, toaster, and all other utensils you may need. There is a large living area with a dining table, a TV with a DVD player, WIFI, and a log-burning stove making it the perfect place to gather for wetter days or just to relax with family and friends. With lots of books and magazines and board games to keep everyone entertained. From the rooms, you will see sheep roaming through the fields. Take a ramble through the forest to your own private lake. An accredited wildlife reserve, we have woodpeckers and red squirrels in our award-winning heritage woodland.

Myself and my family had a lovely, relaxing and peaceful stay at Joanna and Kimberley’s accommodation. It was the perfect spot to wind down and take in the beautiful countryside. The house itself was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable for our family of 8. We enjoyed the beautiful walks of surrounding grounds and curling up by the fire in the evening times. Our hosts were extremely accommodating, responsive and left some great tips for things to do locally. Would love to visit again and would recommend to anyone wishing to to switch off and spend quality time with family/friends. Thank you Joanna and Kimberly

The cottage is nestled in the beautiful grounds of Hilton Park not far from Clones town. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the cottage sits so perfectly on its own that you feel like you have the whole grounds to yourself! There’s lots of space inside and out for bigger groups and its pet friendly which is great as we are always travelling with our dogs. Monaghan town and Rossmore Forest Park are only a short drive away. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Perfect location for a private getaway. Great walking tracks and peaceful location spring lambs in the fields all around. House has all the charm of the old cottage but with all the mod cons required for a comfortable stay. Our family loved our stay here and Joanna was very helpful with our special requests.

Perfect home in a remote location. We were a group of 8 and the home had absolutely everything needed Joanna & Kim were very helpful with check in process as well as recommendations for activities & where to eat. Would recommend to any group or family looking for a quiet break

The local village is less than 10 minutes walk away through heritage woodlands and farm lanes.
There is a charming pub with a wood-burning stove and there is a local village shop. Friday evening there is a food truck parked at the village.
There is a playground in the village with basketball courts and a few walking paths too.
On the weekends there is a late-night local bus service from the pub available until midnight to take you and your guests home to the cottage from Scotshouse village.

There is Local Link bus service which runs to the gates of the estate or the local village ( 10 minutes walk from the cottage).
This local link bus services is connected to the two main local towns of Cavan and Monaghan in which a main bus service can be got to cities across Ireland and direct to airports.
Plenty of carparking available.
