We had a great time at the Eastman Home, but there were a few issues. Stairs to the loft felt very unsafe. Holding the banister was the only way to feel secure. The full banister didn't go all the way up to the top, so the top few steps felt even more unsafe. Scary to imagine going up or down those stairs holding a toddler. The downstairs heat turned off several times for no reason and the owner didn’t know how to fix it. The toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom was broken, creating a hazard for anyone sitting on it. The dishwasher stopped working and there was no way of getting it fixed over Christmas so we washed all of our dishes by hand. We asked for a later checkout time but we were told it would cost an extra $100/hr for the cleaner. Ironically, she showed up an hour early and sat in her car, waiting for us to leave. We found mouse poop in several kitchen drawers and a live cockroach in the dishwasher. The house had a great hangout space and dining room table.
