Take a break and indulge in the tranquility of our recently built seaside retreat. Our spacious apartment boasts tasteful decorations and furnishings that exude an African-chic flair. Enjoy the view and the sound of the ocean from the veranda and refresh yourself with our infinity sea view pool. Stroll along our 20 km beach and experience our traditional fishing village. Savor the goodness of freshly caught fish and organic produce in our kitchen or at nearby restaurants. Villa Funga 2 is a two-floor apartment that has: -On the ground floor, a large sea-view open space, with a kitchen, dining, and living area with two comfortable sofa beds. -On the first floor you will find two, fully air-conditioned, sleeping rooms. The master bedroom has a big terrace overlooking the ocean. The second room can be set either with twin beds or with a double kingside bed. -Both floors have a bathroom with a shower. Just out of the doorstep of the apartments you have a shaded oceanfront veranda, an infinity pool, and an equipped private garden shared with the second unit located on the property. The apartment has internal private parking and private access to the public beach.

Spent 6 nights in Villa Funga, 2 adults and 2 children. Beautiful villa with gorgeous decor. The beach is calm and beautiful. Our host and staff were very attentive and helpful. Had a few challenges with the electricity, which was a general problem in Tanzania at the time, however our host did everything in her power to help us out. We would definitely love to go back.

Das Apartment war sehr sauber und man hat einen Wächter der rund um die Uhr auf das Haus aufpasst. Die Kommunikation mit Kamila war ausgezeichnet. Sie konnte uns gute Hinweise und Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt auf Zansibar geben und falls etwas war, hat sie uns sehr schnell geholfen. Wir hatten unser Baby dabei, welches Poolspielzeug von ihr zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen hat. Auch einen Haken zur Befestigung unseres Moskitonetzes für unser Baby hat sie anbringen lassen.

Wunderschön eingerichtetes Haus mit Pool direkt am Strand. Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Ein riesen Plus gibt es auch für den Wasserspender in der Küche. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig, authentisch, ländlich, dafür sehr sicher. Es gibt in näherer Umgebung genug Restaurants zum Essen. Kamila war immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit

Wonderful seafront appartment with swimming pool and lovely garden. Appartment is very spacious and well equipped. Good for families. There is a gardener/poolboy around the house 24/7 which feels very safe. The location is a bit remote so we recommend a rental car, like we had. Kamila is a great host. Responded very quickly to all our messsages and would there be any problems she’s there to help and proactive to find a solution. We really appreciate this and had a great stay.

We are located right on the beach of Matemwe, a small fisherman village still untouched by mass tourism.
The area surrounding the property is still authentic.
Matemwe is a Muslim community and the locals are very respectful of their traditions. The village is very safe and can be walked around but we encourage you to dress properly, knees and shoulders covered.
You will find here and there some small local shops where the villagers buy what they need for their daily lives, a few mosques, and a lot of happy kids playing around.
At walking distance, you also have a small mini market and fruit and vegetable sellers.
The beach is a 20km stretch of white sand protected by a coral reef. The water is always warm and according to the tide, you can either walk up and down the coast or take a swim in the turquoise lagoon.
The nearby Mnemba Reef is a fantastic diving spot and there are daily trips organized by the neighboring dive center One Ocean.
From June to September and from December to March the monsoons make it a great place for kitesurfing.
Along the beach, you will find some small boutique hotels, including our sister Villa Kiva. All of them are open to outside guests for drinks and meals. Some of them have live music and special evenings to keep you entertained.
