I recently completed a stay with some extended family (5 adults and 4 young kids). The good: It's a fun old house and very spacious to accommodate a big group. The host has done a great job sourcing local, used furnishings, and much of the home is well-styled and comfortable. Margie was incredibly responsive even while traveling. The good-to-know: It's a quirky old home in a rural area. Plan for bugs, sticky doors, & a funky layout. The home is right on a fairly busy street, though the yard is private. The bedrooms are pretty spread out and some directly abut living areas. Some windows do not open or do not have screens. This is not a sparse, empty home - there are lots of personal effects, food, and housewares in the kitchen, closets, bedrooms, and open storage areas. The bad: the home did not meet our expectations for cleanliness and had some maintenance issues. I hope it was a fluke and am providing the host with specific feedback separately.
