We loved Barkala Cottage so much, we stayed twice (first in 2022). Comfortable, clean cottage included cosy beds and furnishings, a bathroom for the adults and one for the kids, plus a fenced deck and yard to keep our kids and dog inside. Quiet, picturesque surroundings with birdsong in the morning. Only minutes away from Amazement fun park and half an hour from Strickland State Forest, ideal for a dog walk. Extras included UHT milk, cereal, biscuits and Lindt chocolate. Peter is an extremely responsive host and kindly allowed us to negotiate our check in time. We had another lovely stay and look forward to coming back for a third time.

Peter and Terry's place is very well appointed, beautifully decorated and in the most spectacular and tranquil surroundings. We loved seeing the goats each day and relaxing at all of the sunny spots on the property. The cottage is so full of light and good vibes. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were comfy and everything was clean. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Peters place! The house itself is super clean & well stocked with everything you could need. The property is absolutely beautiful, so peaceful & calm. Peter was very responsive with all my Qs & was very welcoming for us to bring along our pup. Thank you for having us!

Peter and Terry’s place was absolutely lovely. Booked over the long weekend for two couples and our two dogs. Such a shame we did not book longer. The enclosed courtyard was thoroughly enjoyed by our dogs. The herb garden was beautiful. And there were definitely a lot of little hidden gems on the property (the goats, the lake, and the outdoor setting). Amenities were as described and in the photo. Kitchen was well stocked, which we definitely used to the fullest to cook up a storm. The house was beautiful, tastefully decorated. Aircon and fans to keep us cool in the Australian summer heat. Peter was very responsive, made check in and check out a breeze, and came to make sure we were settled in. He was very accomodating. Very nice place if you’re looking to check out of the city for a couple of days. Will be back!
