I do not want to turn this review into a bashing of the host, however it is important for potential guests to know, and be aware, and then decide for themselves. After all, at this point in time, because I complained to AirBnB and refused to stay more than an hour at this property, I have received a full refund of all money paid within 24 hours. I thank AirBnB for their responsiveness in helping address the issues so swiftly. I am also not going to turn this review into a point by point detailing of all that happened, because I am almost certain the host is going to refute everything quite aggressively, as he has done to other guests who have left less than complimentary reviews, both here, and on Google. However what I would like to do is talk of trust and honesty. I have stayed at AirBnBs from Iceland to Indonesia, and everywhere in between, and what has stood out is the trust that existed between us as the guests and our hosts. That did not exist here. End of story.

I had a very negative experience with an Airbnb terrace garden room I had chosen for my stay. Climbing the stairs with luggage was difficult due to the lack of an elevator. In the morning, the caretaker informed us that we couldn't lock the main door from the inside, which raised privacy concerns. There was also a lot of noise from workers downstairs. Despite good reviews, the setting was not what we expected. Because of these issues, we moved to another hotel. Unfortunately, the payment was non-refundable.
