We stayed in Flagstaff as we wanted to cycle the Te Awa Trail. The cottage is an easy 4 min cycle to the trail and only a couple of mins to the Flagstaff shops with a small supermarket and a cafe and takeaways should you be too tired to cook (the kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook a full meal if you prefer). It was quite at the cottage and toasty warm even though it dropped below zero outside.

We stayed in the cottage for a week and it was an absolute delight. Everything was well appointed and extremely comfortable, and who could not be swept away by the woodland surroundings. The window seat giving a view out to the beautiful tree fern and other flora could not be a better spot to take a book or to just contemplate. Garry was a terrific host — always helpful and friendly. We’d definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at Garry's place, it really felt like a home away from home! Such a cozy space with everything you needed to have a really comfortable and easy stay - heating/ cooling, lots of linen & extra blankets, pantry essentials, toys and books for kids, fresh fruit to pick from the trees. It's a beautiful location in easy walking distance to shops/ cafe/ pharmacy, as well as parks and the waikato river. Garry was a tremendous host and we'd happily stay again!

Garry’s place was just what we needed. A quick stopover that was private and quiet. We were happy to stay and felt it a great deal for the accommodation provided. Would recommend to anyone traveling through the area.
