Whether or not it constitutes misconduct, even if a normal action results in damage to property, should us be defined as unwelcome and evicted? Is it reasonable to be denied discussion for compensation after promptly notifying the host and then being charged $600 AUD for the entire stay as compensation for a coffee table? The host claimed he had mentioned that children were not welcome, but no, he did not mention it in the house rules or during our communication process, and we even provided the ages of our two children. The host claimed that the facilities in her home have a history of 75 years, but no, she did not mention this in her previous communication or house description. She clearly knew that renting out her property meant facing the public and even stated a $300 AUD deposit, but when the unfortunate accident occurred, she refused all communication and demanded an exorbitant amount based solely on her personal will. It shows we canceled, but in reality, we were evicted!

Lone star creek it’s a beautiful cottage in the heart of the yarra valley. The nature around is stunning and walking by the vineyard at sunset it’s wonderful. We spotted kangaroo small alpine possums and many birds!! I would definitely recommend it!

Immaculate cottage, with such thoughtful extras from the host such as beautiful local produce and wine. This stay was about 20 min drive from Healesville and perfectly quiet and quaint. We stayed with our two young kids who just loved it too. It was a great base to get out and explore the Yarra Valley.

My mum and I had a great stay at Lone Star Cottage. Gill and Rob were very generous and friendly hosts. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and homely. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our weekend stay at Lone Star Creek Vine Cottage. Gill is a friendly, proactive and responsive host, and she's thought of everything you might need for a getaway including gorgeous local sourdough and a bottle of Lone Star Creek wine. The house is sparkling clean and comfortable, and someone has an artist's eye given the beautiful pottery and watercolors throughout. And our city dog did zoomies of approval through the fenced yard as soon as we arrived. Throw in a beautiful walk through the vineyard and some fabulous local eateries (Silva's for coffee; Nancy's for breakfast or lunch) and the result is the perfect few days away. Highly recommend!
