Great stay at this light and airy cottage just outside Bakewell. The kitchen was the best equipped I've ever stayed in. Really good sized kitchen diner, making family meals a pleasure. Big lounge with a log burner, great for relaxing after a day's outside activities. Lovely towels and bed linen. Bathroom smelled lovely thanks to a gorgeous reed diffuser, nice touch. Apparently the bed in the main bedroom was a bit uncomfortable but that might be personal choice. And the bedroom with the fixed double was a bit of a tight squeeze, especially having to avoid hitting your head on the wall fixed TV. 10 minute walk into Bakewell along the river, snowdrops everywhere, gorgeous. Easy access to other walks without having to drive. Friendly artisan bakery 2 minutes walk. We enjoyed a pizza and beer at the Thornbridge Brewery bar 3 minutes walk. Aldi supermarket 5 minutes walk. Amazing steak from Critchlows Farm Butchers in Bakewell.
The cottage was well situated, being a short walk from the town but still privately set back to have quiet. Great circular route minutes walk from the house. House was spotless and homely, comfortable beds and linen. Great communication with host, will come back in the future!
Lovely cottage very well equipped really enjoyed our stay. Our host Millie answered all our queries and would recommend the cottage. Very private area. Great.
We really enjoyed our stay at 1 Riverside Cottage - perfect location with easy access to Bakewell and the surrounding countryside, as well as the nearby brewery in short walking distance! The house was clean and comfortable, great to come back to after a long day's walking/hiking.
Great location, nice walk into town to Bakewell, and really close to a great little bakery and cafe. Lovely little garden too, just a shame we didn’t get the weather to enjoy it! Should have maybe expected it from the fact it allows dogs, but downstairs had a strong dog smell.
