We agreed with Ahmad to check in at 5pm. We took the train from Cairo during the early morning. However, due to rain, the train took way more than it was expected to. So we contacted Ahmad at 4pm and told him that we are unable to arrive before 9pm. He wasn’t at all cooperative and told us that he can’t accommodate our need and he sent us an early photo of a conversation that we had where he said that the train might take about 5 hours to arrive. We had to ask him multiple times and to call his father to ask for late check-in. Finally, after negotiations, his father agreed to leave the key with a neighbour. This may seems very simple , but it had a toll on us especially that we had no other place to go. So, if you may arrive late, this place is not for you. On the day of check-out, His father called us and asked us to leave by 10am since there will be guests arriving soon. We refused and told him that the checkout is at 11am and not before. When we arrived to the house: There was urine on the toilet seat. There was no tissues, no shampoo, no hand gel, no garbage can in the toilet. And the house needed deep cleaning. There is no heater in the apartment ( it’s mentioned). But keep in mind that the AC has no heating option. The temperature was 10 degrees outside, and we were freezing. On the bright side, the location is perfect. It’s near the tram that cost only 2 Egyptian pounds.

This was my 2nd stay at Ahmed’s lovely apartment. It was even better this time. He has add internet and other things to the place. He is always available with any questions and fixes any problems that may arise. Highly recommend his place.

A great reception by Abu Ahmad and a nicely decorated apartment in a central location in Alexandria. 5 minutes from the corniche. Lots of shops and taxis and other transport options close by. A Swvl operator stop is close by on the corniche that can be accessed by tunnel. A bit more attention to quality in service can help the overall stay be better.
