This is a spacious old house is well situated to the downtown area and many of the Birmingham attractions. Unfortunately it is showing its age and could use a deep cleaning. Cobwebs on the windows, bathroom doors that did not lock and a stove-oven that was not repaired during our stay took away from our experience. Given some TLC, this elegant old house would make a perfect Birmingham getaway.
Nice location in a historic home.
Ryan's place was the perfect spot for my husband and I and our 3 grown children to gather together to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. The house has so much charm and character and felt like we were at our own home. The neighborhood is great with so many restaurants in walking distance from the house. Some had lunch at Rojo and we all enjoyed an afternoon coffee at O Henry's Coffees. I highly recommend dinner at Automatic Seafood & Oysters. Our weekend was perfect and having a great place to stay was the key. Ryan was easy to work with and very responsive. Thank you, Ryan, for sharing this historical home so we could enjoy its beauty.

My wife and I are both design professionals. I design software interfaces and my wife is a creative director for one of largest ad agencies in the country. We have two girls (11 and 15), two dogs (Mackenzie and Malu), and two cats (Moo and Milo). When we're not working or attending school events, we spend a lot of time exploring the great places in our neighborhood, bicycle, hike, ski, garden, and travel the globe. Our top travel spot is the small fishing village of Parlatuvier, Tobago in Trinidad & Tobago. An amazing eating experience that's a mix of Caribbean, African, Indian, and French cuisine. The people are incredible friendly, NO BUGS, and largely undiscovered by the large commercial hotel industry. I hope you love our house and the city area as much as we do.
