Exclusive place: Perfect for couples; private parking (AUGUST not guaranteed), very quiet, bright and well equipped/located, historical building, in town ( 1' walk far), a breathtaking views of Policastro's Gulf! All comforts (AC-WIFI-TV) and direct access to the furnished patio/garden (deck chairs and umbrella), outdoor shower and shade. Possible parking inside property (not in Aug). We suggest a wide, free but safe (Police/CC) car parking at 100 mt far. Seeing is believing! A priceless and exclusive view ! Quiet and comfortable place, bright, independent and well-equipped studio (hob, washing, fridge, hairdryer, toaster, TV and wifi), 1 ' town's reachable by feet. It's a 34 msq with bathroom, living garden, gazebo with furniture and private parking (not in Aug), panoramic terrace - Naturally heated / air-conditioned - We really recommend it for quite atmosphere, easy living, good and reserved hosts. Private Access for guests. CHECK IN RULES: free until 9 pm. Then I will ask you for a cash tip (25€) until 23 upon your arrival. After 24 No checkin in.

Do yourself a favour and look no further. Best location if you want to stay in Centro Storico. The views over the town and down towards the sea is nothing but spectacular. The best vantage point to view the sunset. The garden setting is a beautiful haven of an evening, looking over the bright lit town

Wij hebben 1,5 week genoten op deze magisch mooie locatie van de gastheer en gastvrouw; Gianluca & Cristina. Ze hebben ons een heel welkom gevoel gegeven en waren ons met verschillende zaken tot dienst. Het uitzicht op Maratea en de kust is breathtaking. Werkelijk 5 sterren! De locatie is centraal, op loopafstand tot het stadscentrum en enkele meters lopen naar een parkeerplaats (of op het eigen terrein). Een heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen of de mooie stranden in de omgeving te ontdekken en de heerlijke restaurants in de regio. Onwijs bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid, hopelijk tot snel!

Un'altra vacanza è possibile. Piacevolissima vacanza nella splendida Maratea. Precisa e calorosa l'ospitalità di Cristina (sorella di Gianluca) che ci ha fornito suggerimenti e consigli. Alloggio gradevolissimo per posizione, funzionalità e spostamenti. I tramonti sul mare visti da questa casa, valgono il viaggio.

Location pulitissima,, confortevole, panoramica, a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro di Maratea. Proprietaria gentilissima . Tutto aderente alle descrizioni. Torneremo.

Maratea is a seaside place but not only ... for those who love seaside but also woods, hills, mountains....a region with diversified daily lifestyle: walks, cycling excursions in the hinterland (Trecchina, Massa Maratea, S. Biagio, Rivello) full of typical village festivals, restaurants and bistrots with local cuisine (cheap with high quality food).That's why i suggest to stay several days.
Maratea has a fantastic micro-climate that guaranteed fresh during the hottest periods in all over Basilicata
Maratea's people (like my grandpa/granny) is welcoming, respectful, honest and kind.
Other places to visit: Sassi Matera UNESCO SITES; Melfi; Maratea S. Biagio (Christ the Redeemer), the whole Basilicata coast; Herculaneum, Pompei, Amalfi, Naples.

TO EAT: Fortunately in the whole area you eat well on average at fair prices but I would like to point out a few:
- Fish: "Da Cesare" in Maratea Cersuta (6 km far)
- Typical cuisine and pizza: "Piccolo Ranch" near the Cristo di Maratea; in addition to the food .. the view is breathtaking ... and then many others places in town and in surrounding area.
- Tourist Cuisine: La Torre in Piazza del Municipio (I only recommend the pizza) is anyway discreet but perhaps a little expensive.
BAR-PASTRIES: In the square: AVIGLIANO, N ° 1 for bulk ice creams-Typical dry pastries but also Italian Breakfast (Cappuccino and brioche), fresh pastries and drinks. On the Corso / Piazza: Iannino for Brioches and Cappuccino On the Corso: PANZA for Pastry and Cakes (typical Bocconotti, Cakes, mignon)
Other RESTAURANTS: Council in Sapri (22 km towards Campania) the best exponent of Cilento cuisine: "Cantina RU RANCO" ... very strong !! (see Trip Advisor)
Other things to keep in mind:
CAR (recommended): A1 to Naples (Pompeii, Herculaneum) then A3. You leave the SA / Reggio Calabria, finally completed, after 120 km (1 hour driving) at LAGONEGRO NORD; follow the SS Valle del Noce towards Praia Maratea Sud; or, still on the SS Valle del Noce, turn right 5 km after Rivello follow for Trecchina and then Maratea. You cross beautiful woods arriving in Maratea from the mountain .... A show !!
TRAIN: Maratea railway station
PLANE: Naples then RENT A CAR: 180 km to Maratea.
Sassi Matera-UNESCO SITES-Melfi- S. Biagio- Christ the Redeemer- Tirreno Sea. Herculaneum, Pompeii, Amalfi, Naples.
