From the moment you arrive you feel like you are some where special. The beautiful natural green landscape full of all kind of trees from tall palm trees to the famous local baobab tree, is very inviting and calming to all the senses. The design is very unique with buildings that are coral cladded and and flooring made of granite stone. You can tell that every detail has been meticulously thought through. The rooms are designed by different designers and each room has its own look and feel. You can tell the materials used are of high quality and durability. It seems more of a community than a hotel as the local staff are very charming and welcoming. The pool was the centerpiece as we spent a lot of time swimming and lounging in it. The sunset deck was also great for early morning tea or watching the beautiful sunset. The food by Chef Rose was impeccable. The use of local ingredients and local flavors was a wonderful surprise. Feel reenergized after just a few nights at kizikula. Can’t wait to return!

Kizikula is a contemporary boutique hotel with its timeless design and a different approach towards hospitality that you would be used to the rest Zanzibar. A small piece of modernity in line with nature , tucked away in a sleepy fishing town on the south of the island. A proper get away from civilization and your needful dose of isolation. Shehab and his team are excellent hosts starting from the tasty food that chef Rose cooks in integrating fruits/vegetables and spices grown n the land to the always present but none intrusive service that Gulam provides. Daniel made our lives easy with organizing trips and shuttles for sightseeing or any other leisure activities. The rooms are impeccably designed with a personal touch added by all the different people who have contributed to their final look and feel. Massive focus points on the mix of indoor and outdoor showers that are truly delightful for all the hedonists and exhibitionists or for the few who enjoy a good shower! Spend your days chilling at the infinity pool or soak up some sun on the sun loungers laying around. Sunsets should be enjoyed on the sun deck. Perfect spot for laidback luxe. I’m so grateful to have been able to visit for the friends and family prelaunch period. The place is just a dream come true- superior finishing in a lush green spot with a spectacular pool and stunning sea views. The rooms are beautifully constructed with gorgeous outdoor showers and simple yet effective attention to detail. The food and drinks were all carefully thought through and using fresh plants or vegetables from the land. I especially loved the fresh lemongrass and ginger tea with honey on tap all day long! The staff are attentive and silently on hand to always refill your glass or bring you a towel...this is luxury! I honestly didn’t want to leave -ever!! Thank you for being wonderful hosts and hope to return soon! Asante sana.
