A comfortable basement apartment for a base to explore Washington DC. The hosts were helpful. The apartment is located a bit out of town but close to the bus route and 15min walk from the metro. I felt a little unsafe walking on my own after dark but not so much that it stopped me doing anything.

Renae and Daniel were very accommodating hosts as they let us drop off our bags early from our flight so we could walk around. The garden apartment was super cute and had all the essentials one might need for the comforts of home. Unfortunately we were woken up every morning at 6 a.m. by the apartment upstairs. The walls are paper thin so you can hear every movement from a footstep to the dropping of a fork. My boyfriend described the noise level as "being seated and involved in their conversations". We spent most of the day out exploring so it didn't bother us except it was our wake up call each morning. Additionally the shower had NO hot water, the hot water took a while to warm up and the when it did it lasted for about 2 minutes. We took cold showers each day. We had an excellent stay! It was very spacious with lots of amenities. The hosts communicated well, especially when they needed to enter the space (e.g. to do laundry, reset the breaker). We went during really nice weather so only had to use the wall heater once and the space was otherwise well insulated. The nearby public transit brought us everywhere we wanted to go!

Renae was the best! So responsive and helpful, I had never used a lock box before and when I texted her that I was struggling with it she was right there to help open it for me and show me how to do it in the future. On top of how at home and safe I felt here it was so clean! My favorite thing is when I can walk around with white socks on and they stay white, and this apartment did that for me. I look forward to booking with them again in the future for another, safe, calm, clean and beautiful stay. Thank you again Renae and Daniel!
