Smithson’s house is about 11 minutes from most Asheville attractions. The house was one of the few close in that was reasonably priced. It is an older home with a nice deck in back overlooking their field across the drive. We enjoyed evenings on the deck watching the deer. This is not a fancy house, but you aren’t paying for that. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the house is cozy. We slept with the windows open, and it was great! We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here this past weekend while visiting the Biltmore. The location was great and the house is very charming. We loved the deck out back for relaxing and enjoying the nice weather. In the morning we sat out there and watched the deer. The dogs loved the big yard. I was a little nervous about the sloping living room, but to be honest it's so slight that I don't think I would have even noticed if it had not been pointed out. The beds are very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for all of our showers. My only recommendation is .......DO NOT use WAZE for directions. It took us to a horse farm in the middle of nowhere down a dirt road adding 40 mins to our drive. Google got us back on track and gave us the correct directions. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we got there and it is hard to locate the driveway in the dark. You have to look for the blue reflectors. We had a great experience and enjoyed the house. We will stay there again if we return to the area.

A great home base for our first trip to Asheville. Easy access to the city's many attraction-filled neighborhoods as well as hiking areas on its perimeter. Some cool coffeehouses and local shops to check out as well. The hosts did a great job setting the place up and making sure we enjoyed all of it. Thank you!
