Charming and rustic converted old chapel, built in 1893! Situated in the countryside right outside Hova, a small town right in between Sweden's two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern. (This is my summerhouse and I only rent it out 1-3 weeks tops every year. Please note that there is no cleaning service at this house; the renter will have to clean the house before they leave) Charming converted old chapel, built in 1893! Situated in the countryside right outside Hova, a small town right in between Sweden's two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern. Downstairs consists of one large room with a seating-area as well as a dining-table, and a wood-burning stove. TV and dvd-player (some dvd's), and lots of books. Lots of board and other games for the evenings or rainy days. There is a portable WIFI in the main room, that has a quite a lot of surf on it. If you run out it’s easy to buy more surf at the store. It can be temperamental, that is why we have the house listed as without wifi. But it usually works even if you may have to turn it off and on a few times etc. The kitchen is simple but functional, and has an electric stove, no oven. There is also a very comfortable pull-out double day-bed ( so an extra 1-2 people could sleep here if you get visitors). The bathroom has under-floor heating, toilet, shower, sink and a washing-machine. Upstairs there's a large bedroom with 4 beds (or one double and two singles), and a nook with one bed. There is also a large bed downstairs in the old altar (in the big common room, so not private)! There is also a small house in the yard with an additional 2 beds(plus a kids bed). The house is surrounded by mature maple-trees, under which are garden-furniture seating 8-10. There is a bbq's, and a wooden pew on which to have coffee in the morning sun! There are also a couple of lounge chairs. A couple of bikes are available, and there are a couple of beaches within biking distance (30-40 min), and plenty of others if you drive. Close to the nature reserve Tiveden, Göta Kanal (you can take a daytrip on the canal, or why not bike along it!), flea-markets and Mariestad. Sea-eagles are frequently spotted by the nearby lake Skagern, also marsh and hen-harriers, buzzards, cranes etc. There is a medieval festival in July which is small but charming! It's called Riddarveckan and takes place 11-16th of July 2022.
