After a long roadtrip trough japan, i also wanted to see a little bit more quiet place, where i could go hiking etc. With this appartment i got the full old japan experience it was very fantastic. Also Kei was always available and really friendly. He showed me a lot places to go and some nice restaurants. I had the best days in nagano and i want to thank kei for that!!

This may be the best Airbnb experience of our lives. We were invited into this man’s lovely traditional home. It felt like a step back in time to a more peaceful way of life. The garden with Koi pond is stunning. Kei is an exceptional host. He made sure that all of our needs were met. He picked us up at the train station, took us out to a local grocery store for supplies and also arranged for the most beautiful meal at a restaurant called Tsumugi (you must go) The house is well appointed, with all modern conveniences yet still maintaining its old world charm. This is a quiet neighborhood without all the hustle and bustle of big city living. If you are an adventure seeking traveler this is a do not miss experience.

What an extraordinary place! And Kei is a wonderful host, with helpful suggestions for restaurants nearby and in Nagano. The house is a traditional Japanese home with modern updates, especially in the bathroom and kitchen. Like many old houses, there is not a lot of insulation, but the house is well stocked with blankets, space heaters, and of course there is a cozy fireplace. Thank you Kei for sharing this home with us!
