A lovely Paris apartment - good lighting, clean, comfortable, a good amount of space, and a great view. The kitchen was also nicely set up for cooking to supplement some of our week stay meals. Being close to both train stations was very convenient for day trips outside of the city. The surrounding neighborhood was exciting, fast pace, and non-touristy. We walked most everywhere, but enjoyed the nearby Canal Saint-Martin the most for morning coffee to the evening nightcap. Great place for more than a few days.

We had THE BEST month-long stay! Ed and Muriel warmly welcomed us to Paris, and took the time to recommend us some great local places to shop and eat. What we loved most about the apartment: the beautiful light that streams in each day, the easy walk to two metro stations and both Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est (made early morning Eurostar and TGV trips a breeze), and the compact but well-equipped kitchen. The neighbourhood is a mix of different aspects of Paris, and we liked the easy stroll to Montmartre and picnics on Canal St Martin. Thanks again Ed and Muriel

Staying at Ed and Muriel’s was a huge part of our wonderful visit to Paris! Muriel was lovely, and in addition to her helpful recommendations, she was an inspiring person to talk to and very responsive to any questions. The place was so charming; it’s the dream apartment and we could’ve stayed forever! Lots of space, lovely windows on both ends, very private, clean, cozy, and great water pressure. It’s on the 6th floor, but we rather enjoyed observing our improvement on the stairs as the week progressed :) many great restaurants and bakeries nearby, and a close walk to the metro if you want to explore other neighborhoods! We were sad to go, but happy for the next group that gets to stay here :) thank you again Ed and Muriel!

Good ease of jumping on a metro in the Chapelle area (might have wanted a little more confidence of this ease on day one.) Also a lovely walk over to the St. Martin Canal system that provided a charming glimpse of local life in. Decor felt good, simple, solid with some plants that made you want to open the windows and let in the wonderful natural light. Nice to feel disconnected from television, but also being tempted to go out and buy a DVD player and viewer to watch their single offering of TWIN PEAKS THE RETURN. Mysterious, intriguing photos and great collections of books. Met a cat on the top floor that seemed to be hanging out on the stairwell (not for the faint of heart.) Really amazing lock system on the entry door. A real fun experience just using that each time to enter and exit. Nice lighting in the room and a comfortable bed to cozy up into. Hosts available and responsive but also good to not intrude on our shyness of being strangers in their strange land.
