Bright studio space hidden behind architect's office. 3 minute walk to Cheese Cottage and Braided River Brewery. 5 minute walk to Dauphin Street Entertainment District and Mardi Gras parade routes. Situated at the west end of the Historic Automobile Alley District, this re-purposed building once an auto-parts store and mechanic's shop - is now an office with two residential units. Great location for weekend visits or business travelers. Quiet, secluded and convenient. The Saint Louis Studio space is steps from breweries, eateries, and mardi gras parade routes.

Great studio apartment in downtown Mobile. Walkable to restaurants, breweries and even grocery stores. At first I was a little concerned about the neighborhood (a few empty lots and abandoned buildings nearby), but I didn't have a minutes trouble while I was there (and I stayed four weeks). Paul and his family were wonderful hosts, very responsive and happy to suggest nearby places to eat and shop. I would be happy to stay again any time I'm in the Mobile area.
Excellent location for all of the downtown Mobile attractions. Easy to work with and very responsive host. Would definitely rent again.

Very responsive host and great location if you need to be around midtown / downtown. However, for the price ($150+/night with added fees), it's average. Cheap and uncomfortable furniture and the small TV was glitchy half the time-- due to the furniture is a good distance from it. Not a bad place, just not worth the price in my opinion.

Newly established as a Historic District, Automobile Alley is between the LoDa and Detonti Square historic districts. This was the place to buy your vehicle in the 20s through the 40s. The street is now booming with brewery, bakery, eatery, antique store, virtual golf, and several loft apartments. The Chevrolet and Buick dealerships have been converted into office spaces and lofts.
If you are going to Dauphin Street for food, a parade or art walk it is a short 5 minute walk. Electric scooters are available to rent in the downtown area. Downtown is bicycle friendly with bike racks, air pumps and tool stations. For traveling further, Uber and Lyft can get you to the airport.

My wife Libby and I enjoy biking and most anything outdoors. I am an architect and Libby is a real estate agent. We enjoy walking and biking. While I prefer to stay grounded, she enjoys sky diving. We usually travel light - just a backpack. We thrive on seeing things that are not on the beaten path. We are also hosts of an Airbnb unit in downtown Mobile. I love chocolate and Libby loves wine and cheese.
