We are located in the Parco delle Colline Livornesi (Livorno Hill Park), also called “L’isola che non c’è”, the italian name for Peter Pan’s Neverland (The island that does not exist). This name is due to its origins as a fossil island that became joined to the mainland in a relatively recent geological period. More precisely, we are in the area called Parco Culturale di Camaiano (Camaiano Cultural Park).
The nearest sea can be reached 15 minutes away by car at Castiglioncello, famous for its crystal-clear water and Art Nouveau (Liberty) architecture. However, going a little further down along the coast, you get to magical places such as the Gulf of Baratti, with its nature reserve and Etruscan remains, or the long beaches of fine sand in Marina di Castagneto and San Vincenzo; or even enchanting places such as the beach of Torre Mozza, dominated by the ancient watchtower against the Saracens who plunges directly into the sea, or that of Cala Violina, set in a nature reserve that slopes from marittime pine forest to Mediterranean scrub and where the sand, made up of tiny grains of quartz, “plays” in a way similar to a violin when you walk on it in the most quiet and silent days. All of these beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag for water quality.
The area is dotted with delightful medieval villages, with abbeys, hermitages and fortresses. Here you will find typical products and traditional Tuscan country cuisine of the land that are nothing short of exceptional. When by the sea, you can eat freshly-caught fish cooked in many different styles - for example the famous Cacciucco alla livornese. This is an area that is home to many officially recognized (DOC) specialty wines and olive oils. We are located 30 minutes from world-famous wine-growing areas - where the tastings and food and wine tours are unmissable - such as around the beautiful village of Bolgheri.
In just forty minutes you can reach the Thermarium of Venturina, the ancient Etruscan Baths that today are enclosed in a beautiful warm lake with whose wellness-giving waters are surrounded by ancient buildings. These Baths are also famous for their unparalleled relaxation course in the Calidarium. Baths and the Middle Ages are also the leitmotiv of Sassetta, 45 minutes from us, a splendid village perched on a rock and surrounded by chestnut and oak woods between which the thermal waters flow before to be channeled into "La Cerreta", a biodynamic system of 75 hectares surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub.
Pisa, with the international airport and its famous Leaning Tower, is 45 minutes by road. Florence is one and a half hours away, the famous Volterra at 50 mins and the beautiful city of Siena is less than a two-hour drive. However, much closer, in the local area, there are many other sights to visit. For example, there is the Archaeological Mines Park of San Silvestro, whose paths wind through museums, mining galleries, a thousand-year-old medieval village of miners and metal foundries, together with trails of historical, archaeological, geological and naturalistic interest, or the Biancane Geothermal Park where all the deep power of the earth is expressed in gysers, fumaroles and hot waters that also give rise to bathing spas; or Livorno itself, an ancient port city with various cultures and curiosities, whose steep cliffs hide “pearls” almost unknown like the ancient basins carved into the rock that some believe to be Roman pools.
From spring to autumn, there are many cultural, gastronomic and musical festivals in the beautiful old town.

We also can organize your daily tours to the best beaches and the and the many places well worth a visit. Alternatively, if you do not have a car available, there is a local bus and train service that allows you to move - although not quickly - throughout the area.
