Blackwell House offers countryside seclusion on a peaceful and seemingly private winding country road, surrounded by beautiful traditional and contemporary gardens to relax in, a small orchard and lake to sit and contemplate next to, all set in the middle of Irish farmland.      We are only 15 minutes away from the main Dublin to Belfast motorway and also from the Portadown / Craigavon Business Centres. Each room in the cottage is equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, kettle, toaster & everything you need to make your breakfast or simple meals on the go Dining We love our food & cooking - we provide our guests with a delicious seasonal dinner menu using only the best of local produce from award winning producers and the freshest eggs from our own hens in the meadow with herbs and vegetables from our garden.  Our breakfast buffet includes home made Irish breads, fresh fruits, cereals, preserves, bottled fruit juice and freshly brewed coffee.  Joyce makes hot food to order from our extensive breakfast menu on the Aga Stove, including her award winning traditional Ulster Fry with the best award winning local sausages, bacon black pudding and her own Irish soda and potato bread.  Activities: Things to do around Blackwell House and beyond Visit the Game of Thrones Experience (due to open in Autumn 2020) only 7 miles away!  Just stop and relax in a quiet spot in the Garden Room or sink into a comfy sofa in front of a blazing fire in our Sitting Room where you can forget about the world outside. Get lost in endless collection of charming books or a game of chess Chill out and relax in our beautiful garden during the day, or Enjoy the sunset drink by our lake with an option of marshmallow toasting around our cosy fire-pit (wrapped in one of our fluffy tartan rugs) Soak in our hot tub with a glass of bubbly Book a cookery lesson with Joyce - if you would like to learn to cook your own Pancakes or Irish Soda Bread on Great Aunt Maggie's 100 year old Griddle Treat yourself and book an afternoon tea if you are staying over Saturday, tuck into scrumptious, hot, freshly baked scones with ‘lashings’ of fresh Irish cream and homemade raspberry or strawberry preserves. Book a special romantic dinner for two in our Garden Room filled with candles soft music and food to die for. Excellent walking and hiking paths among very scenic fields full of sheep and endless bike routes all start directly in front of the Blackwell House. It's very common to see sheep, horses and cows in the proximity of the house. Book a round of Golf, go fishing, horseback riding, cycling. Shop at the nearby Banbridge Outlet Centre or Belfast City Centre.
