We had an absolutely lovely experience at the Rust Op Twist. It is a totally a one of a kind getaway and a great mix of secluded and yet close to everything! Being in the middle between C and F SRRD, it’s the perfect home base for travelers interested in exploring the entire island being centrally located. The family is incredibly responsive and really makes you feel welcome. They shared a lovely meal with us on our first night and it was a the perfect way to kick off our trip. ❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoyed our stay at Rust Op Twist. The private location on the quiet north shore can't be beat. The building itself is quite old, but quite a bit of it has been remodeled. The kitchen is very well stocked, has a full range, dishwasher, microwave and full-size washer & dryer. The living room is quite comfortable. There is terrific screened-in sitting area outside of the main house. Both bedrooms and the living room have great air conditioning units and ceiling fans. As a bonus there were two ice chests, a couple of well-worn beach chairs, and two sets of snorkeling mask & fins. There are a few things about the house that are a bit "rustic", so this home may not be a fit for everyone. This home sits on a historic sugar planation approximately 32 acres in size. The home is a couple of miles from Cane Bay (where we went SCUBA diving). To me, this is a special property and I'd stay here again.

Overall experience was disappointing. The pictures were misleading, there were additional policies that were not stated in the rental agreements, and it was not as private as we expected. We arrived on the day as scheduled but house had not been cleaned. When we finally were permitted in the next day, the master bedroom comforter was wet taking hours to dry, and there was mouse dirt on counter behind toaster. When it rained the gutters caused flooding in the bathroom which we resolved by cleaning the gutters ourselves. There were undisclosed policies: 1) you could not flush used toilet paper - if we had known about this, we would not have rented. 2) limiting water usage. 3) the threat of being charged for using to much electricity Other Issues: 1) Back door doesn’t close 2) Steep and uneven stair access to patio 3) Patio door handle broken and sharp 4) Screens with holes and not attached or broken 5) no emergency lighting for frequent power outages 6) Trash policy unclear

The cottage was adorable with many amenities and the sound of the sea through the windows. The screened-in porch was an added bonus for watching the sunset. Friendly neighbors were eager to enhance our vacation by providing the history of the beautiful property, as well as activities for fun. The flora and fauna were abundant, and there was an aura of peace and healing throughout Rust Op Twist. Linda’s place is, indeed, a magical, ethereal experience that we will always cherish. Linda is a superb host with a generous spirit. We enjoyed our communications with her. She always responded promptly and kindly.

A beautiful, historical property. We watched the butterflies as we enjoyed the breeze on the screened in porch and marveled at the sunset view from the sugar mill on the property. We could not have been more please with our cottage and Linda’s hospitality.
