From the start Margie was communicative, friendly and helpful. We didn’t get a chance to meet her as she was travelling in Europe, but she always replied quickly to our questions and provided lots of helpful tips and info. Her mother Francis received us and made us feel right at home immediately. Francis was lovely and although there was a language barrier she really made an effort to communicate. She also provided us with great breakfasts and nice company while we were home. The bed was comfortable, the entire house clean, and although there was an issue with the water supply, there was always lots stored for our use and we didn’t feel inconvenienced. The location is about a 25 minute walk to the centre or a short bus ride away (bus stop right in front of the house). They also have a very friendly and sweet dog, although he could use a shower, medicine for his itching and some more food.. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would be happy to return. Highly recommended!

Margie and her mom were great hosts. Margie's mom met us on the street so we could find the place. She made us breakfast in the morning even when we needed an early breakfast as we were doing a tour that day. They helped us find a good place to eat in the evening and the kitchen was available if we wanted to cook. The beds were comfortable and the place was quiet

Nous avons passé 5 jours chez Margie (qui n’était pas présente) et sa mère. Le séjour s’est très bien déroulé, les discussions que nous avons eu avec la maman de Margie étaient très interessantes et nous recommandons chaleureusement ce logement à tous ceux qui voudraient passer du temps avec des locaux plutôt que dans un hostel rempli d’étrangers. Sa maman nous a préparé des petits déjeuners nicaraguayens très copieux tous les matins et nous a amené faire un tour du quartier le premier soir afin de nous donner tous les bons plans nourriture. Le logement n’est pas situé dans le centre (mais à seulement 20 minutes de marche), ce qui était un véritable plus pour nous ! Aucun problème de sécurité dans le quartier. Si nous sommes à nouveau de passage à Léon nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

We had a lovely stay with Francis. She was a lovely host, and made us breakfast in the morning. A little walk outside town, but it was fine. Taxis have a difficulty finding it. There were problems with the water during the day, but was not a major issue. Would recommend.

Margie and her mother made me feel at home as soon as i arrived to their house. The mom really treated like a real family. I felt like my my own mom sometimes. The breakfast was traditional Nicaraguan style and very tasty. Margie speaks fluent English and a good communicator. She will answer all the questions about the city and local cultures. I will definitely come back to this place when i visit Leon again. High recommended!
