My stay with Hotel Torguguero was incredible. There was someone at the dock La Pavona to meet me and make sure I boarded my boat, then someone waiting as soon as I arrived on Tortuguero to direct me to where Tuanis Tours is located, to orient me with the area, and to show me to my hotel. The hotel staff were incredible. The room itself was honestly the most comfortable place I stayed in my time in Costa Rica. The bed was very very comfortable and the sheets were marvelously soft. This is huge for someone traveling with a lot of bug bites, and also was huge after I unfortunately got a sunburn. The room has great AC and the bathroom had great water, including hot water. The location is really superb if you want to be by the beach; it's a one minute walk and there you are on the beach (which is absolutely stunning). Tuanis Tours, which is partnered with this hotel, is amazing, as well. I went with them the first night to watch turtles and got to see a 3.5 foot turtle as she lay her eggs, camoflauge the area, then return to sea. Absolutely once in a lifetime experience. Just loved it here. The breakfast is great, as well. Honestly such a luxurious feel to this place for such an affordable price. Would definitely stay here if I ever come back. Good place to stay, pics are accurate - actually the room a bit better. Cleaning every day, very good shower (rare in Costa Rica!), comfortable bed.
