Crawford · 农家仓房里的独立房间 · 3室3床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · Our Heritage Guest Ranch. Barn Loft - Right Side
Welcome to the west! Not everyone can say they have slept in the barn. Surrounded by art and furniture made of recycled materials. On our 3600 acres, we raise cattle and horses on a unique landscape nestled in historic, northwestern Nebraska. There are opportunities for you to ranch with us, fossil hunt, hike, take artist workshops, sunset and star gazing or just enjoy the seclusion of the area to relax. Ask about these when booking. Our three facilities include loft one, two and the cabin. The lofts have a full kitchen just 30 feet away so there is no need for you to drive to town to eat. In the loft you enter a living room setting with a couch hide-a-bed, small table, chairs and piano. We made the queen-size bed and wardrobe by hand which are also in that room. In the front corner are 2 stair cases taking you up to 2 bedrooms with full size beds. The full bathroom is on the side of this room. It is heated by a fireplace and cooled by an air conditioner. There is a shoe tray to leave your dirty shoes in when you enter.
Real farm living. Rooms were comfortable. Great place to disconnect to a simpler time. Host was great.
A unique experience staying in an apartment in the corner of a barn at a working ranch in the Ogallala National Grasslands
Very convenient to Toadstool Geological Park. There is a long gravel road to get to the property. This may be a factor depending on your vehicle. We stayed in one of the barn lofts, so all of the following comments are related to the barn lofts. We are a family of 5 traveling with two dogs. The barn loft space was tight, but we were hiking all day so not a huge factor for us. There is clean full-service kitchen available, but you do have to walk outside to get to it. For the barn lofts, laundry facilities may be available depending on other occupancies. There was not WiFi in the barn loft. We were prepared for the sulfur content in the water and brought our own drinking water. Due to the sulfur content, we also used the water we brought for brushing teeth and making coffee.Jean was a great host and the location gave us the ability to hike/visit multiple sites in Nebraska, as well as, Hot Springs and the Bad Lands in South Dakota.
The ranch is nestled between Pine covered ridge, rolling prairie and badlands. Historic Sites: Hudson/Meng Bone Bed, Toadstool Park, Fort Robinson, Trailside Museum, Marie Sandoz museum, Chadron Fur Trade Museum, Agate Fossil Beds, Mt. Rushmore and many more.
Please bring a higher profile automobile. Call ahead if there has been any wet weather. 4 wheelers are fun to bring. Bicycling and hiking in the area.

Jean is a descendant of homesteaders of 1887 has been hosting since 1999. She has been at it for so long she refers to herself as old as the hills and twice as dusty. She's an artist, rancher, horse trainer and historian. Beyond lodging, other reasons to visit this ranch are the ranch activities, area history and gorgeous scenery.
