- Dimitrios Rousopoulos is t a resound hagiographist who has 25 years of artistic experience in the field of Byzantine iconography. He studied painting, art maintenance, encaustic art, scenery and costume design in Greece. He is a member of the Greek Chamber of fine Arts. Mr Rousopoulos is the president of the Ecclesiastical Museum in Hellenis, Greece. In addition, he is the president of the Gallery of Modem Greek painters. -. Under the tutorage and careful guidance of Rousopoulos, he and his staff of artisans have dedicated themselves to the traditions of this ancient art form and the creation of icons, mosaics, and paintings that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also spiritually enlightening. -Mr. Rousopoulos and his fellow artists take great pleasure in sharing the results of their many years of research and study in the field of Byzantine art and the lives and legends of the saints with you. Their hard work, travels, and considerable study has resulted in the creation of a series of extraordinary artistic paintings, mosaics, and icons that are not unlike those done by their Byzantine counterparts, since they have been created with the same inspirational religious fervor, profound love, and cultural respect. -It is has been the goal of the Art Academy to escape from the ranks of those who would mass produce religious icons and inferior renditions of artifacts; but rather the staff of the Greece takes great pride in creating both elegant and inspirational pieces that will withstand the passage of time. -We create hand-made, original and custom designed wall-mosaics and icons based on inspiration from all over the world especially Italy, Greece, and other countries using a variety of materials such as pure gold, multi-colored enamels, various shades of marble, and an array of granite pebbles and ceramic material. All pieces are created by extensively trained artists and supervised by Rousopoulos who personally guarantees the quality and workmanship of every art object. -Floor mosaics, one of our specialties, are done in natural color chips of marble and granite and edgings that mirror past cultures. When we use tiles of marble or ceramic, care is taken to mount them perfectly. We can create the perfect design or produce a design based on your own creation to meet your specifications in terms of color and dimension. - Mosaic work requires excellent artistry which we can provide to you. However, if you are innovative and artistic, you too have the opportunity to provide you own design. We encourage you to be open to creating and representing your own culture which will be a legacy to pass on to your own children and future generations.
