Staying in a cabin built on top of two huge pontoons, floating on the river is quite the experience! This property is a bit undersold, it's much nicer than the description and photos suggest. The cabin itself features a living room with a kitchen area. The furniture is a bit tired and it can get a bit cramped but it works if you are no more than three people. The kitchen has a gas cooker and there is a small fridge out in the hallway. No 220V power, but there is a USB charging point for your phone which is convenient. All power is from a solar panel and it powered the fridge, lights and charged my phone all at once without any issues. There is also a separate bathroom with a chemical toilet and there is water from the tap powered by a small pump. The cabin also has a "banya" (sauna) which is wood fired (wood provided). The idea is you first take a sauna then jump into the cold-ish river to cool off. I did not try it but it looked great. Outside there is a decked area with a gas fired BBQ and a seating area, and a ladder straight into the water. Since the whole cabin sits on the water you may experience some movement as the waves come in from passing boats and therefore this place is not suitable if you easily get nauseous from the "cabin" bobbing up and down on the water. I thought it was incredibly relaxing and I slept so well! The rocking movements of the cabin gently rocking me back and forth made me fall asleep in record time and I woke up feeling so refreshed. In fact I woke up to glorious sunshine and it's incredible to just open the door and look out on the river. The cabin is accessed from a decked path and there is private parking. It's not suitable for people with mobility issues nor suitable for little kids due to the location straight on the water. The host helpfully provided firewood, gas for cooking/heating and clean drinking water. Note the cabin does not have running water, but that was not an issue as the host had provided lots of huge bottles. Could not find any way to do the dishes (no tubs provided) but I am sure the host will rectify this. The host was very helpful, answered all my questions, and explained everything on arrival. The interior of the cabin is alright but a bit tatty. There are two bunk beds which were pretty cozy, and a smallish sofa bed - so in theory it sleeps four people but I would say you would be more comfortable if you are maximum two adults and two kids. The kitchen is OK but not well equipped. No coffee maker, no kettle. Not many utensils and oddly, no pots. The outside area is great and the gas fired BBQ worked well. The location really is second to none and while there is a bit of noise from the nearby road during the day it's quiet at night.

Spennende med husbåt og ekstra fint med badstue. Og med en svært hyggelig husvert, ble dette en fin opplevelse :-)

Parfait pour une nuit et vivre le "trip norvégien". Nous sommes arrivé à pieds et comme nous n'avions pas de serviette (il n'y en a pas dans la cabane), l'ami de Jurij m'a emmené en voiture électrique en acheter une (ainsi que de la nourriture) et m'a ramené à la cabane ! Accueil très sympa mais confort et équipement très sommaires.
