I absolutely loved spending two months in what I affectionately called "my treehouse." David's place is quiet and cozy, a lovely choice for respite within the city and concentrated study. Being so close to Debs Park, Flat Top Park, and Figueroa St/Highland Park was great. Sound does carry from upstairs but it wasn't much of an issue. David was always very responsive, helpful, and kind. I was sad to leave the place but happy to have found it!

David is a fantastic host! The place is in a wonderful location with an exquisite view. It was great to call home for a few weeks in Los Angeles. If you have any issues with people living above you, walking, stomping, etc. this is not the place for you though.

Working in TV/Film, I originally was slated to stay for 3 months, but I loved this place so much that I extended my stay an additional month after the show was over! Here are some pros (and cons if there are any?) Pros: The street is very open and had no street sweeping so parking my truck was a breeze. I felt safe walking around the neighborhood, it’s a quiet area. David was very responsive and kept the patio and yard area neat and clean. Awesome views of downtown, and loved watching the sunset every time I could. Loved the main room and the windows for natural lights. Con: There is a unit upstairs that gets rented out sometimes. Usually, you don’t hear anyone, but sometimes you get a party of people and you can hear them shouting or moving things. But what do you expect, that’s the case for everyone anywhere you go that has an upstairs neighbor. Bottom line: an incredible and quiet place, worked out good for me as a solo person. Looking forward to booking again in the future. 5/5

David's place was perfect for my long stay. I worked remotely without a problem! Great size for 1 person and accommodates 1 additional guest comfortably as well. The neighborhood was very scenic, and while Montecito Heights itself isn't very walkable, I found that the 1-mile drive to Figueroa St. or York Blvd was super easy and had all the elements of a city I was looking for (great local shops, standout restaurants, good cocktails, yoga studios, excellent coffee etc.). The upstairs unit is for short stay, so guests would turn over frequently which isn't an issue, but my only recommendation would be to bring earplugs or a sound machine because there doesn't seem to be much insulation from upstairs noise. I wouldn't let that stop you from booking, though! Overall, David was a very professional host, and this was a great stay. Would book again.
