Wow, staying here was so stressful. Like the exact opposite of relaxing. The night I arrived, I found that the space was in quite bad condition and furnished very cheaply with low-quality materials that were often unfunctional. The pictures don’t do justice to the particle-board cabinets falling off the walls, the flickering lights, and the non-operational window blinds. I am a big fan of well-loved spaces, but this one seemed well neglected. The host was very hostile and demeaning when I asked any questions and told me to find a butler to help me because I was from America. I’m not quite sure why she responded this way to a simple question about a location to dry the dishes (spoiler alert—there is none) and a cabinet she knew was already broken. I ended up taking every opportunity to stay with friends, pet-sit, and house-sit just so I could have a comfortable place to live elsewhere. From the beginning, I had the feeling I was about to be scammed. The day before I arrived (I booked 6 months in advance), the host surprised me by demanding that I deposit 500 Euro into her bank account outside of AirBnB policy, and then she told me not to message her on the AirBnB platform. She also sent me detailed messages complaining about AirBnB and her past guests, all of which really confused me. AirBnB told me not to give her any money outside of our agreement, but on one day’s notice I couldn’t find anywhere else to go. I tried to cancel my reservation but was unable to as I made a long-term reservation, couldn’t get any of my money back, and am a student on a student’s budget. On the upside, the neighbors were generally lovely, and Berlin is such a cool city. Maybe you will have a better experience in the flat than I did—I certainly hope so.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Berlin in Lubas Ferienwohnung und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. An der Ausstattung fehlte es an nichts und auch die Lage war sehr zentral und erstaunlich ruhig. Luba war außerdem eine sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Vermieterin.

This is a stylish, comfortable apartment in an excellent location close to Treptower Park and the river. It has a beautiful garden in the back and it is lovely to sit on the balcony. The apartment is stocked with essentials you need for a long-term stay and the wifi is strong. Luba was a very accommodating host and did not hesitate to respond to questions.

We were both in rehearsals for a cruise ship and this flat could not of been more perfect for us. We were thrilled with the place. It was spotless and were treated so kindly by Luba. A modern and spotless 1/2 bed flat and has all the amenities you need. There were plants to make it feel light and friendly. I would recommend this air bnb to everyone.

Best airbnb experience! Thank you Luba for being the most amazing host ever, and for going the extra mile for me! I had to find temporary accommodation for me and my cat because I was relocating to Berlin for a new job, so I was lucky enough to be able to stay at Luba's wonderful apartment for 1 month :) Always responsive, helpful and uncomplicated! My flight was delayed for couple of hours so I arrived really late, to come home to a welcoming space - with beautiful flowers on the table, and even some snacks - most considerate gesture I came across in a very long time! The apartment itself is stunning! I was quite sad to check out :) spacious, clean and lots of natural light! I have spent many pleasant evenings on the balcony. Location is also amazing! A quick walk away from Treptower park and close to lots of pubs and restaurants! Very well connected! All in all, I loved it, and I definitely recommend! Thank you Luba!!! My move to Berlin wouldn't have been the same without your help. Best, Lia
