Very cozy and comfy stay! Our room had a private balcony which overlooked a small stream and we were able to see lots of wildlife. The room was well equipt with burners, pots and pans, and cooking utensils, so we could cook on the days we felt like staying in for meals. In the evenings when the mountain temperature got a bit chilly, the room was equipt with a space heater and lots of extra blankets. The airbnb itself is located in an ideal location. Each activity, as well as the town center, was only a 10 to 15 min drive away. On the days where we stayed on the airbnb, we hiked their privately owned trails, played pickleball, and observed the wildlife all around us. While staying at the airbnb we were able to see lots of different kinds of birds, cows, horses, monkeys, and fireflies, not to mention the owner's very friendly cat. The host, Oscar, was very friendly and attentive and gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants and look out points. Overall an amazing experience!

My stay at Casa Balbi is just what my soul needed. From the serenity of my patio to the picturesque landscape I was permitted to just breathe. The hosts (Larry and his son Oscar) are extremely accommodating and helpful. Oscar helped us secure reservations for the activities we wanted to do and shared local spots to get the flavor of the town and it citizens. What fun that was. I also enjoyed wonderful conversations with Larry and Oscar. I highly recommend Casa Balbi and I hope to return sooner than later. My only regret was having to leave as I was made to feel right at home from the moment I stepped on the grounds of Casa Balbi… Pura Vida, Debra

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits dans ce logement. De tous les endroits où nous avons séjourné lors de nos 2 semaines au Costa Rica, c’est le plus authentique et le plus près de la nature. Nous avons pu apercevoir et entendre beaucoup d’animaux à partir du balcon. C’était une immersion complète dans la jungle. Nous avons particulièrement aimé observer l’éveil de la nature au coucher ou au lever du soleil à partir du bacon. Emplacement proche de la ville (possible d’y aller à pied) et proche de Selvatura. Il y a également sur le terrain un bel air commun avec chaises, hamac et petites lumières lorsque la nuit tombe. Il aurait été possible d’aller marcher sur un petit sentier directement sur le terrain, mais nous avons manqué de temps pour le faire. L’hôte était particulièrement accueillant et disponible pour toutes questions. Sa maison est à côté du logement. Nous recommandons cet emplacement.

A place to relax in the beauty and majesty of Monteverde. Our casita had everything we needed to relax and enjoy. There are great restaurants in the area but the kitchen is fully equipped if you feel like staying in. The property is landscaped with biodiversity in mind. We saw over 35 species of birds, a troop of capuchin monkeys and lots of beautiful butterflies. Our hosts were very responsive and had amazing recommendations for the area and wonderful insights about the different ecosystems at each elevation. The outdoor garden space was a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon shade. We will absolutely visit again!
